Re: Working over the next few months?
haven't posted in a while. The Met office won't give any prediction to the weather over this Winter period, a US company associated with another UK forecast provider has done a review of cold winters in the UK over the last 150 years, specifically looking at weather trends. To cut a long discussion ...

I agree get tough on criminals they should be the ones living in fear not inoccent law abiding members of public. Prision should not be as comfortable as they are. I appreciate that there are also so many other things wrong with society today, and peoples expectations is one of them. We don't owe an...

Like the new styles nice and clean I've seen a variation of the Sprites one on another forum (mobiledisco directory).
I always thought black backgrounds were good but I've gone of it now.

dont know about that one, also no one would see 'gritting in progress' that was dropped last year for 'salt spreading'TM1 wrote:The norm seems to be that half the signs don't work at the moment, for one reason or another.

Re: DON'T travel unless it is absolutely necessary
As for gritting, its the toll staff who carry it out, the same ones who work on the ISU, but being a private company (and road) they have cut costs over the past couple of years so are minimum staffed. Next time you are on the toll have a look on the northbound just past T4 and you will see the tol...

Re: DON'T travel unless it is absolutely necessary
M6 Toll road, two lanes closed due to snow, no grit. Two thought. Who looks after the toll road in terms of gritting? The other, how do you know there was no grit? You do realise that grit doesn't get rid or stop snow? M6T look after the salting of the M6t road, but operate in a similar way to MAC ...

Re: DON'T travel unless it is absolutely necessary
Motoring mayhem. Today from Junctions 4a down to junction 2 of M6, we slowed down to a crawl, reason being the road had not seen any grit. Northbound the traffic was at a standstill. M6 Toll road, two lanes closed due to snow, no grit. So i ask you dear HA, are you up to the job? Did the snow arriv...

Re: Motorway Cops, BBC1, Tuesday
Found the programme quite entertaining.
However, I was more worried about one of the officers in the programme making the assumption that as the roads were wet, with the weather conditions as the temp dropped the roads would turn to ice.
Why do we salt the road then?

or do we just let things go all the time :slr: ? It seems to be at the moment that the only people who do care are the TO's. When ever I have a problem I talk to my TM who does nothing, If I see a problem with signals I ring the RCC and they do nothing and If I talk to my OM he does nothing. Are ou...

yes but the 3 lane sections are tied in with exits at 1, 2 and 5, 6, it is essentially a 2 lane mway.
And the signs were on the 2 lane sections
