Re: Transport police to be armed

Uniformed and unidentifiable bullies who think they are allowed to work outside the law. What other reason would they do this for. That'll be the "Ways and Means Act (19whatever)" mate, best bit of legislation that was never written :slgo: Seriously though, getting back to topic, its about time tha...

Re: Transport police to be armed

I must admit to secretly enjoying my public order duties with baton and shield my skipper always insisted on eppaulettes removed when on mutual aid duty. The days before crest badges on uniform just "Police". Ahh, the good old days! Far simpler and far more effective than this current Police "servi...

Re: Transport police to be armed

Given the the AFO role is usually quite over subscribed when vacancies arise, and working in London brings with it various salary enhancements I wouldn't be surprised to see a number of existing AFO's transfer in from surrounding forces. This way BTP can gain some instant experienced AFO's as well a...

Re: Is my £35k salary too much?

According to reports i've read she (I refuse to afford her the courtesy of addressing her properly) actually point blank refused to answer David Rathbands question, clearly she has no idea what frontline police officers already give to the job for free out of commitment and goodwill. By swinging the...

Re: swapping penalty points? can you get someone else to tak

It'll be very interesting to see how this plays out, mere mortals have frequently been jailed for perverting the course of justice, given Mr Huhnes position it could be easily forseen that he could expect a similar fate if found to be in the wrong. Is it really worth risking a jail term for the sake...

Re: Increase Motorway Speeds To 80 MPH????

The new FPN's sound great in principle as they target the very types of driving that are the root cause of the majority of RTI's. Where I fear this will fall down on though is the sheer lack of RPU available to enforce these offences, and indeed whether such offences will even be witnessed by office...

Re: Who dares...break into a van full of SAS soldiers?

Police say no further action will be taken. Is that to prevent the SAS lads from getting done for GBH! :D I dare say some summary justice was swiftly dispensed with, therefore said scroats might actually think twice before committing TFMV again, an outcome that our pathetic judicial system could on...

Re: Stopping Vehicles

I don't see any problems with it. The position probably means more powers for VOSA to allow them to stop vehicles without the need for a police patrol. I believe, and vostapo will hopefully be able to confirm, that at the moment, VOSA only has the powers to request a vehicle to follow them to a che...

Maybe, but if it prevents the bullying of pupils or the abuse of teachers then that is a worthwhile risk. Children are in school to learn after all, if they step outside of clear boundaries then they should expect consequences.

Re: Teachers get more powers in bid to improve discipline

I agree with it, however I believe that it also gave teachers the power to delete text messages on pupils phones. This concerns me greatly. Mrs V is a teacher, she said that the deleting of data (video/picture/text) is there to prevent the spread of inappropriate content (bullying/happy slapping/as...

Re: Wayne Rooney

Just read in the news this evening that Rooney intends to appeal this disciplinary action. He sets such a poor example for the millions of children who idolise him and furthermore his own child! The "heat of the moment" excuse is pathetic IMO, regardless of your chosen career if you're a well paid p...

Re: Do NOT kill off our HATO!!

Lorry drivers bleat on about being so called 'professionals' of their trade, if this is indeed true and they are 'professional drivers' then one should reasonably expect them to drive to a standard far above that of the regular commuter. When incidents such as this occur and the blame is squarely wi...

Re: emergency workers refused to pull a man from boating lak

Don't believe all you read Slabber, to say the Daily Mail has been 'selective' and 'sensationalist' about the facts would be putting it mildly. From a trusted source i've been informed the deceased had been motionless face down in the water for over 30mins before any emergency personnel were on scen...

we all put JEDI KNIGHT down last time this time there was no space for it so I just wrote it in block capitals across the top There's plenty of space to enter it in the 'other' box on the online form (not that I condone such mockery of official documentation) :sleye: :slgo: Use the force Falk!
