Re: Incident responding

There are certain regions that patrol APTR's that are trialling bullhorns. Apparently you have to activate the lights which then turns the standard horn into the bullhorn. This then takes your hand off the wheel to aloow you to press the horn thus making you less in control when trying to squeeze t...

Re: what would you do? [MOP on the hard shoulder sparked out]

Years ago I came across a parked vehicle with a guy in who appeared to be sleeping. Despite banging on the windows & sounding the Disco's horn we couldn't get a response - then, on closer inspection realised we were dealing with an Heroin overdose (syringe still embedded in top of his thigh was a b...

Re: AIRWAVE - Point to point?

We've just recently started with Airwave. Our radios, like yours, aren't personal issue, however they are Vehicle issue, so the same vehicle will always have the same pair of radios on it. This has the advantage that the radio can have its opposing radios issi number on the back of it, then if you w...

Re: Paramedic refused to take man because he was 'on lunch'

I am not comparing it to a broken down vehicle as such, I am just trying to put it in perspective for you. Attending injured people is this guys job, he does it all day everyday. The points I am trying to make are It was an old injury - it hadn't just happened in the last few minutes, it had happene...

Bans

Have just noticed a link at the top (between "chat" and "ranks") that says "Bans" clicking it leads to the details of who has been banned, how long for and why. There are 8 people on the list, 4 of them were banned forever on the 1st of January 1970!!

Re: Paramedic refused to take man because he was 'on lunch'

Ok lets try and put it into a HATO perspective. Would you happily give up your UNPAID break to go and attend a BDV on the hard shoulder that has already contacted the RCC and safety advice been given over the phone? I have no problems working a 12 hour shift if I am paid for a 12 hour shift. I am pa...
