Hey guys,

I was introduced to this site by a HA member of staff as we speak to the RCC daily.

I work for Trafficlink, the guys that do the traffic and travel on the radio/TV/Internet/Sat nav etc.

I have a real interest in roads, my Dad was an officer for GMP all his life and my partner is currently on the waiting list to join you guys after passing all the interviews and assesments.

I will probably just lurk around, and see what is going on.

I am coming to do a training day with you guys in the next week, so we can have a better understanding of how you work, so if anyone has any tips or advise for me, then I would be very grateful. I am coming on my own, so feeling a little nervous, especially as I have got homework to do before the day! :o)

I hope you meet up with some of you on my travels!

I will be visiting Rob Lane for the training on incident management. I doubt that I will be able to contribute much, but the more we find out about how you guys work, the better the relationship between us.

I am hoping to get to go out on the road with one of the patrols there too soon. That will be really interesting.

Try not to get a weekend Branston.
Idealy a friday late turn or a monday early.....especially if it is raining.
Weekends tend to be mundane and rideouts get bored.

Thanks for the tips guys and galls

I would have thought that the one at the RCC would have been the busiest. Umm.. let me guess, Knutsford? or does Milnrow cover the M60?

I wouldnt want to get in the way, so I would be suprised if I was let out with you on a Friday evening.

After all this special treatment, I am beginning to feel like an honourary HATO! I didnt score too badly in your quiz either.... wheres that application form again?....

Here is a quick guide to the character of NW outstations

Knutsford - Militant, mostly bald and lazy

Rob Lane - Brown nosers, overly hirsute and lazy

Milnrow - No better than GMP, odourous and lazy

Milness - Slightly scarey, covered in sores and lazy

Salmsbury - Over eager, envious of Yorkshire and lazy

Before giving me greif remember I work from one of these Redneck

Ah, very observant RN. I won't say which of the above NW Outstations that I work at, but it is in an area where absolutley everyone is related to everyone else and this would possibly explain why we all have three nipples.
