RIP fella and condolences to the family.

Know that stretch of road well as have driven it many times in my former life.

A thought.....if HATO's had still been actively patrolling, might this story have been about a crushed TOV & injured/deceased TO's?

Stay safe peeps.

Brings the message home if you had forgotten how dangerous it really is out there. RIP :(

Very sad news indeed. Don't think it'll make a blind bit of difference to be honest. We all know the dangers and yet we all do stupid things every day acting as if we don't know the dangers.

Reading the article posted above, one ex trafpol says "where we're the HATOs"?? No mentioning of how we're out in harms way 2000 times a day. Funny how someone has to die before people start saying what a good job the motorway police do and admit that they are bad drivers themselves and no mention if the fact that presently our job is to deal with hard shoulder and live lane work MORE than the Police and people should take more care.

Sadly, this won't make any difference to anything.

RIP Sir.

Very sad my respects to him and his family, only goes to show what we all face working on the network. looking at the pictures if he had been in his car he would have survived. nice to see our "professional driver's" are living up to thier usual reputation throw the book at him and make sure the book hits him fu**ing hard

Without knowing all the facts it may not have been the lgv driver entirely at fault.
Your comments are a little premature my friend. :slshh:

Very sad for all concerned and a wake up call for everyone, no one sets off on any journey with the intention of causing death or injury and it could happen to anyone a moments inattention or lapse of concentration.
People are like tea bags you have to put them in hot water to find out how strong they are.
