From page 7 of today's "body & soul" in THE TIMES

If you're health conscious choose THESE biscuits! HEALTH: the TOP FIVE BISCUITSin the UK today
1 Garibaldis
Image
19 calories, 0.5g fat per biscuit

A great little low fat biscuit with the advantage of having just a trace of salt and virtually no saturated fats
2 Rich Tea
Image
38 calories, 1.3g fat per biscuit

A plain but functional biscuit with very little fat, 0.1g of salt and less than 2g of sugar
3 Jaffa cakes
Image
46 calories, 1.0g fat per biscuit

Good for chocolate lovers who are watching the calories, jaffa cakes contain almost no salt but do have more than a teaspoon of sugar per biscuit
4 Ginger nuts
Image
46 calories, 1.7g fat per biscuit

Said to be good for travel and morning sickness, one or two could help to settle a queasy tummy too
5 Digestives
Image
70 calories, 3.2g fat per biscuit

Digestives still do pretty well on sugar and salt but by virtue of their size and weight you do get more calories per biscuit
if you're going to have a biscuit then one of the above are as healthy as you can get for sugar, fat or salt

but should we REALLY be bothered? which is your best biscuit?

One for the biscuit connoisseur.
Is the Jaffa a biscuit or a cake?

Falkor, I think this topic needs a poll to determine the best biscuit/cake to carry on road.

I can remember a dietician saying anything beige in colour is not good and to be honest it is pretty acurate.

Digestives for me ideal for dunking and cheese.
People are like tea bags you have to put them in hot water to find out how strong they are.

Steer clear of "Air biscuits" ,
they tend to whiff a bit :slzi: :scoo:
