FKZ

Post by uk_vette » Tue Jan 10, 2012 12:59 pm

Hello all,

Just popping in for a brief look and chat.

Also let you know FKZ is still running very good.
over 250,000 miles.
She doesn't look a day older than when I got her off you chaps up the north outstation. (You know which one)

Fuel consumption has dropped off a bit, down to about 27 mpg, solo, and 21 mpg towing 2000kg.
I think an injector overhaul may be required, and to keep the spray pattern back to within specs.

Body wise, she is still immaculate, no rust showing any where.
She pulled my brothers 2000kg twin axle Hobby caravan all over Europe in the summer of 2011.
In an out of the Alps, and down Italy east coast, over the Appenines and into Naples and Rome.
Through Monaco down past Barcelona.
Faultless, and never put a wheel out of place.

That was really too close for comfort,
Dangerous place the side of the motorway.
Lucky no guys in the Land Cruiser, although, it does look like it withstood the weight of the HGV.

Hi xHx,

I am fine, thanks for asking.
Spending much time over in China now, so my brother has FKZ.
I am probably only in UK for 6 weeks in the year. :slnak:

However China is an amazing place. :slhd:

I bet. you still got lots of nice translators looking after you?!

Can't believe you only get 6 weeks a year in Britain...mind you i bet the weather is better over in China!!
You should get the car shipped out there. I bet she misses her daddy.

Hi xHx,

No real need to be in UK, except to visit my mum and by brother.
Other than that, me and my girl fly Beijing -> Madrid -> Barcelona, and then we fly my mum out from UK to join us.
My mum was with us for 3 months last year in Barcelona. Beaches and BBQ and pool every day.
No more many translators, Just the one, and we plan to marry later this year in the summer.
As you know, it is a huge country. China's weather is so different depending on where you are.
For example, in winter, in Northern China, day time temps will be minus 30 deg.
On the very same day in Southern China, the day time temps will be plus 23 deg.
As for FKZ, no need for her in China. You don't need or even want a car here.
No one really drives for pleasure
Any city bus ride is 10p, and 2 hours on the train costs generally about 20p. Even a 1 hour flight can be had for £10
For now, China is OK.

It sounds very different in China to what the press would have us believe.

Aww, you stayed with the translator? I remember your posts on here when you had just met her.

3 months in Barcelona, are you rich?!?!

I've always wanted to go to China and visit the yangtze river. Maybe one day!
