Police officers stabbed

Post by Bob Parr » Wed Dec 15, 2010 6:35 pm

A police officer and a community support officer have been rushed to hospital after being stabbed in Ealing, west London.

The attack occurred in Ealing Broadway, on Uxbridge Road.
Sky home affairs correspondent Mark White, reporting from the scene, said that the police officer was slashed across the throat after a routine bus ticket examination.
It is understood the suspected attacker was wanted for recall to prison.
A source said that when it became clear he was about to be arrested, the man pulled out a knife and attacked the officers.

He said: "He has gone for the officers. The PCSO has been stabbed and the PC was stabbed in the head and suffered the worst of the injuries."
The constable was taken to hospital and is serious but stable condition.
The PCSO suffered stab wounds to his head as he wrestled with the attacker and is also in hospital in a stable condition.
The incident took place opposite the Nationwide Building Society branch and outside The Parish Church of Christ the Saviour.
The suspected attacker, who is believed to be in his 30s, was arrested at the scene.
Sky's crime correspondent Martin Brunt said police sources indicated that the officers were working on a safer transport patrol.

"The officers recognised the man as being wanted and it appears at that stage he lashed out," Brunt said.
"Police are now satisfied this was the only man involved in the attack."
Brunt said the PCSO apparently fought back and suffered defensive wounds during the attack, which occurred at about 3.05pm.
Sky understands the PC's wounds are no longer considered life threatening.

At least ten police cars blocked off Uxbridge Road and major road diversions were put in place as forensic teams scoured the area as darkness fell.
Transport for London said Ealing Broadway station, which operates District and Central Line services, was not closed but buses were diverted.
London mayor Boris Johnson said he was "shocked" by the attack.
"Violence has no place on the streets of London," he said.

Should become a DONER and help at least 5 others to live a worthwhile life!

I wish them both a speedy recovery.

But it goes to show we must all be on our guard, just because it's only a break down, it doesn't mean that the driver is not a nutter out for revenge against any one in uniform.
Don't walk in front of me I may not follow,
Don't walk behind me I may not lead,
Just walk beside me and be my friend.
