Come on lads & lasses we need to crack on and make this thread a special tribute to Fiona & Nichola the two officers who lost their lives :( whilst out doing their job to try & protect us and everyone else

All I can say is they have my upmost respect as do all the other officers doing the job day in day out going about quietly unnoticed until they are needed & then they step in & do the job with the upmost professionalism.

I am absolutely sure that come the funerals the public will be standing alongside Nicola & Fiona's colleagues to show them the massive public support they have :slclap:

The sadness of this tragedy has touched the nation to its very core.
These two officers were murdered for simply doing their job.
I am unable to express, just how saddened I am by this.

However I must say thank you to Fiona and Nicola for their sacrifice, sleep well your duty is done.
I am honoured that we have such people prepared to out themselves at risk for our safety

It is sad enough that two police officers have been killed, but the callous way it happened makes it a lot worse. RIP.

A tragic loss to families and friends.
My thoughts go out to you.
Don't walk in front of me I may not follow,
Don't walk behind me I may not lead,
Just walk beside me and be my friend.

Words are not enough, my thoughts are with you both and your families, friends and colleagues. May your passing bring about change for the better that would be a fitting legacy.

Not sure I can add to this but just reminds us of the thousands of police officers who everyday go into situations not knowing what will happen.

RIP ladies. Your duty done to the limit and now, sadly, done too early.

I know many colleagues who have volunteered to assist GMP...shows how the police family stands together. Very proud to be a member of that family now.
