versus . . . .. . .the role of a T.O in 2007! what's the difference?

ok here we have the old "THE ROLE" page from 2007 > > about2.html

not bad, goes into quite a lot of detail into the life and role of an onroad T.O 2007

I am now putting together the new "THE ROLE" page >>>> demoCSS/about2.html of course it is the 2007 story!! :slch:

but what I want to do with that new page is stow the entire display to a "PAGE 2" so that the reader first sees a "PAGE 1" that is the 2013 story!! :slclap: can anyone please step forward and do a few paragraphs to describe the latest Traffic Officer role 2013, five years have gone by, is it still the 2007 scene? :slby:

Who can really say? It's changing so much. Tomorrow we may all need a copy of the sun for the dashboard next week we will be filling potholes.

You heard it here first

When you think of the title "Traffic Officer" it really doesn't conjure up the image of someone filling potholes. It will be emptying the bins next.

One of the major obstacles we have with the TOS is that us on the ground have moved on to meet the changes in the job but the pink and fluffy brigade are still stuck on day one.

Don't walk in front of me I may not follow,
Don't walk behind me I may not lead,
Just walk beside me and be my friend.

Yes I think that just about sums it up! :slgo:

Mind there are more than a few on the front line TOS who are just as bad. Quite what they thought they were signing up for god only knows (though the HA description of the job did not help) as lets face it motorways are inherently dangerous places.

The trouble is that these sort of people raise issues which are often plain stupid but someone with a comfy office chair works out that in 1 in a million occasions someone might get a splinter or be on the edge of the law by clearing the carriageway and get the traffic moving (still one of our primary purposes apparently, though you would not know it) and the one in the comfy seat might just get a bit of bother. So that action, piece of equipment or manoeuvre gets banned...and so yet again we take another step backwards!

And don't even get me started on people who don't like working weekends or nights as it interferes with their home life! Well sorry don't join a 365 24/7 operational job then. Same goes for not getting the exact leave you want. :slr:

Right going for a lie down in a darkened room!!!
Life, don't talk to me about life.
